The versatile trainer

I was out for cocktails at the weekend when one the gang noticed my trainers. “I really like your shoes,” she said. “I don’t think I’ve seen you wear them before.”

She hadn’t. But the complements have been flowing ever since I got a new pair of Puma v3.08 Sala Soccer Shoes from Soccerpro.com. And for good reason. Like any good trainer, these Puma’s are comfortable, eye-catching, and most importantly, versatile. While the rubber soles do nicely for indoor soccer – without marking up the surface – the colors and design go well with jeans, drinks, and a night out with friends. In other worse, this is the ultimate all-purpose shoe.

What first catches the eye is the meticulously embroidered lion which curves along the inside of both shoes. Three blue strips of mesh allow for a refreshing flow of air. And the orange sole blends nicely with the combination of blue, grey and white.

If you have wide feet, this may not be the shoe for you. The Sala is narrow and hugs the contours of your heel – reducing weight and maximizing performance. The molded toe reinforcements enhance the athletic design. They also function well as a running shoe. That said, I plan on keeping mine scuff-free for nights on the town.
